Global Issues Summit
The Global Issues Summit (GIS) is an initiative started by former academy student Karim Farhishta in 2012 with the intent to spread awareness about global issues to students in the community. As students, we understand that our world is extraordinarily fast paced, and therefore does not allow time to truly understand what is going on in the world. The goal of the Summit is to ensure that people understand the true nature of our world. Each year's theme aims to educate the public about a certain aspect of global issues through listening to a variety of speakers who will speak about a vast range of topics.
About Us
Global Studies Academy
The Global Studies Academy (GSA) is a program hosted by Clements High School that specifically targets students interested in foreign affarirs, global studies, and language studies. It equips students with the necessary skills to solve the problems that will challenge societies in the future. The GSA develops leadership abilities by giving students exposure to global issues, languages and a student government so that students can gain a global perspective. In addition, the Academy allows students to integrate themselves into a well rounded student body that inspires global thinking along with promoting global diversity.
