Sami Sultan is the President of the nonprofit Houston Renewable Energy Group (HREG) while simultaneously working in Shell’s Renewables & Energy Solutions business. HREG’s focus is on the renewable education and empowerment of the Houston community in close alignment with the City of Houston’s Climate Action Plan. Sami’s most recent work at HREG is launching a Pathways to Clean Energy Careers internship program where underrepresented students get connected with employers and mentorship opportunities for fruitful careers in the clean energy industry. Overall, Sami’s interests are wide-spanning and range from sustainability to autonomous vehicles. He is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
